A 2-3 hour full biomechanical assessment is a highly detailed view into your movement history and current dynamic patterning.  Using the latest in Silicon Coach motion capture software and GoPro we can be hyper accurate on sporting assessment.  Coupled with clinically derived muscle balance screening then we have target root causes and accordingly can treat with confidence and progression.

Gait (Running) Analysis:

Running is an incredibly complex movement, and more common than not, when considering the root cause of a running-based injury, it is not the injury site that is at fault.  Running in equilibrium is the effective management of both internal and external forces, the body’s ability to cope with braking and propulsive forces as well as it’s ability to control what it is doing in completely open space (when both feet are off the ground).

Humans are a bipedal race, designed to travel short- to medium-distances safely, relatively quickly, and with only minimal effort.  So why when we look at run technique to we see SO MANY faults?  This is where your bioSPORT gait analysis will identify WHAT is causing the issues you present with.

Your assessment is based you and your needs.  We’re not trying to compare you to the Geoffrey Mutai’s of the world.  One of the greatest faults is exercises prescription is just that – prescription.  It doesn’t work as you are an individual and must be managed as such.

Cycling Analysis and bike fitting:

Cycling, when performed with accuracy and control is poetry in motion.  Whether it’s the Cancellara within you, the Cam Brown or the commuter on the single speed, when a rider is in ‘synch mode’ with his/her bike it is a glorious thing.  Should riding a bike be painful?  No, but even at the pro level far too many riders ride in pain.

Road rider or triathlete? Mountain biker or track rider?  All very different modes that MUST be managed so.  Hayden Roulston doesn’t need to run off the bike, and Gina Crawford does.  Do they ride in the same manner?  No.  So much to consider, but ultimately it comes down to aerodynamics vs biomechanics, a never-the-twain shall meet type scenario, unless its managed well. This is bioSPORT, and we manage these scenarios well.

Triathlon Assessment – 3 hours:

Total triathlon time is more highly correlated with running efficiency than swimming and biking combined.  FACT.

However, what are you doing within your swim and bike technique that can have a profound effect on the manner by which you run off the bike and hence set yourself up for the run?

A bioSPORT Triathlon Assessment delves into your swim technique, what it is you’re trying to achieve with your swimming, HOW that can influence how you set yourself up on the bike.  Coupled with this we, with a lot of accuracy and detail, identify how you are riding in either ITU or long-distance bike set-up.  Do you struggle with T2?  Bike fit could be an issue, bike technique most likely will be heavily involved, but what’s the relationship between the two.  This is the focus of the first half of the triathlon assessment.

Running.  It’s hard to do effectively off the bike, but there are some key things you can do to manage this and get the min/km’s down to where they need to be ASAP.
